Juniors

Alnwick Castle Golf Club is committed to the development of the junior section

Alnwick Castle Golf Club is committed to the development of the junior section and for many years we have been renowned for being successful in developing junior golfers.

“Alnwick Castle Golf Club aims to create a welcoming and friendly environment where young people can play, develop and enjoy golf in a professional and safe structure”

As a young golfer at Alnwick Castle Golf Club you will enjoy the dedicated and committed support of our Junior Organiser. This will provide you with an opportunity to learn all aspects of the game, not just technically but also in respect of course management, rules and etiquette. We encourage appropriate behaviour e.g. fair play, honesty, integrity, respect and consideration for others; skills which will help you throughout your life. As a junior member at Alnwick Castle Golf Club you will be provided with ample opportunities to make new friends, play competitive and/or social golf to help you develop at a pace that suits you. This will enable you to progress from a beginner to an established, experienced golfer through a number of steps designed to build your confidence in a safe environment.

Safe Golf Accreditation

England Golf is launching a new SafeGolf accreditation for clubs which meet high standards to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

SafeGolf is a UK & Ireland safeguarding partnership which promotes a safe and positive environment for everyone in the sport. It offers a website –  http://www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Our current Club Welfare Officer is Andy Hill
Email:  secretary@alnwickcastlegolfclub.co.uk

We are delighted that Alnwick Castle Golf Club has been accredited with SafeGolf which shows we meet the standards for safeguarding, this includes:

  • Adopting the England Golf Safeguarding Policy and communicating this to members, visitors, staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are in place
  • Ensuring procedures are in place to recruit and use staff and volunteers who work with children
  • Appointing a Club Welfare Officer, with a clear role description and training
  • Providing regular training in safeguarding and child protection for professionals, staff and volunteers who work with children
